The company has been based, since 1973, in Molino dei Torti (AL)in Piedmont, in the Lower Scrivia Valley, an area dedicated to the cultivation of potatoes and quality onions. A solid reality which, over the years, has achieved important milestones thanks to a company philosophy centred on quality and innovationwith a service that is always attentive to customers' needs.
In their own factory, on a daily basis, potatoes and onions are processed with modern processing equipment and packaging, we manage the procurement, storage and cold storage of our own or third-party raw materials, which, thanks to the strategic location of our facility, allows us to timely delivery of products throughout Italy.

Everything starts here
The business activity began in 1973 in Molino dei Torti, a small Piedmontese village in the province of Alessandria, in the Bassa Valle Scrivia, an area dedicated to the cultivation of vegetables. The brothers Gaetano and Cleto set up a simple company with the aim of marketing the vegetables produced in the local area.

Transformation of society
Over the years, the Torti brothers enterprisingly strengthened ties with farms and developed business relations in the north-west and began to specialise in the processing and bagging of potatoes and onions. In those years, as volumes increased, they transformed the company into a general partnership.

Wholesale fruit and vegetables
The marketing of fruit and vegetables in the various wholesale markets in northern Italy continued and the Torti brothers made important commercial agreements with the large-scale retail trade, which would become their main interlocutor in the following years.

New factory
The company was transformed into today's F.LLI TORTI S.r.l. In order to meet their own and their customers' needs, the brothers decided to invest in the construction of a new 5,000 square metre plant, also in the municipality of Molino dei Torti, and to renovate all the obsolete potato and onion processing and packaging facilities.

New technologies
Over the years, the company continues to invest in training and machinery with new technologies to meet the growing demands of the market. The innovative 2-kg 'vert-bag' bag packaging is launched, more manageable and functional for the consumer. Over the years, supply chain contracts began to be established with several large-scale retail chains, including private labels.

Factory expansion
In 2006, the existing factory was further expanded to a covered area of 10,000 square metres with the construction of cold storage rooms for raw materials and a logistics area for the rapid loading and unloading of goods, so as to concentrate the entire management and control at a single facility. In the years that followed, the company brand was restyled, all the packaging was renewed, and new packaging lines were implemented with new formats and diversified weights to satisfy every customer need and in line with new market trends.

2011, F.lli Torti is the first Italian company to install an electronic weight grader for grading potatoes and onions, an innovation that ensures product uniformity and homogeneity and a high added value, as well as improving the visual impact of the marketed products. In line with its corporate philosophy, the company invests in the field of renewable energy, installing two photovoltaic systems on the roofs of its facilities for a total power of 455kWp that allow it to produce clean energy and power the processing plants, safeguarding the environment and the planet.

MORDILIO modernisation and branding
These years saw the restyling of the company brand, the renewal of all the packaging, and the implementation of new packaging lines with new formats and weights to meet all customer requirements and in line with new market trends. Over the years there is also a restyling of the processing and packaging machinery and plants to always guarantee a high quality product. In 2022 the MORDILIO brand is launched, which identifies the premium line of F.lli Torti.

Today, the company continues with the second generation, The Torti brothers have been joined by all of their respective sons, who actively collaborate with passion and commitment in the family business, to enthusiastically carry on the founders' project.
